Our Minor ladies took on a strong Midleton side in a Minor A1 County quarterfinal on bank holiday Monday. The opening 25 minutes was an even affair with both teams trading scores with the teams at 0-3 each with halftime looming. However Midleton grabbed a goal and 2 points in the closing stages of the half to lead 1-5 to 0-3 at halftime. A big second half was needed from the girls but just as the second half started Midleton got a second goal leaving Valleys with a huge task to overcome. The Valleys girls kept battling to get get back into the game but the 2 goal cushion was too much to overcome in the end with Midleton seeing out the game in a final score 2-10 to 0-6.
